Astoria:
@RasheedChappell is an MC and Storyteller, who goes by no aliases or monikers. The current Bayside, Queens resident is originally from Passaic, New Jersey, but reps Project City, Aspen & State for those that are familiar.
The Jersey native attended both Passaic High School and Passaic Community College, where he earned his honorary Masters degree in spades, giving a special shout out to Ms. Carol & Ms. Muriel his earliest teachers from the Guidance Guild Nursery School.
The rare times he is not either recording or ripping up the rap circuit, Rasheed enjoys to read, travel, learn new things, and also attend the gym, his newfound passion lately.
He’s a diehard Yankees fan, who doesn’t have a favorite NBA team, but has truly admired this historic Knicks run and how NYC has come to life because of it. He also hasn’t really watched NFL games since Colin Kapernick was banned.
Most people don’t know that Rasheed is not a fan of crowds, and he has a mean jones for a warm chocolate chip cookie.
Rasheed says of storytelling, “It’s what I do, preserving the history of people, places and moments that shaped my life and the lives of many. I attempt to go beneath the surface and give a pulse to the avenues and hallways of which l roamed. I was there, part of me will always be. If l don’t tell these stories, they may go untold and the memories forgotten. I take pride in being chosen to do so.”
